Prelude - Kids

Black and White Photographs of School Kids
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••

A multi racial collection of city school kids, ages 5-11. Portraits, candids, action shots, crazy kids, quiet kids, beautiful kids, kids with attitude. Some of these kids came from Central America and remembered the machines of war. Other kids knew only one city, one country, and peace. Some kids lived in one room apartments with a plug-in coil for a stove. Other kids travelled in luxury cars to a multi layered mansion. Some had two parents working high powered jobs. One girl kept begging her mother to find her a father. Despite the juxtaposition of languages, luxuries and labels, these kids were young enough to form friendships and assume social equality.
